silly little things

going to a party tonight…just wondering whether I should bring my laptop.
by bringing it, I wouldn’t have to print out the map to the location. As well, I can bring my set of mp3s (good party ambient music). Though, bring it a bit of a hassle. I will have to keep constant watch over it. Simply said, there’re way too much important data and program in it, 4 semesters worth of work is in it.  hmmmm….better not bring it, so I can relax and enjoy the party.

party

got invited to a close enough new year’s party(because it’s on the 30th and not 31st). It’s got one of those gift exchange thingy happing, so I went out and got a gift yesterday. here’s what I got.
Spongbob_s Mermaidman & Barnacleboy to the rescure. :)
Can’t resist not to purchase these, the price was also just right. Now I got to get some wrapping paper. I might also get a bottle of wine….seems to be the polite thing to do when visiting a friend’s house for the first time.

boxing day

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

For the first time in I don’t know how many years, I actually went shopping on boxing day. Woke up bright and early(actually it was still dark) at 7, had a little breakfast and check up on my downloads. After looking at the holiday schedule on the Hillcrest mall website, I’d realize I can head out because the mall opens at 8.  Around ninish, I had arrived at the mall. I walked around for minuites, only to realize there’s nothing I want there. So, since it was early, I took a chance and headed to Vaugh Mills(figure it would be crowded). The parking was alright for a boxing day. I didn’t feel like buying anything today but given I’ve set myself a 6xx max limit, seems like a waste not to get anything. I picked up a few shirts, a new scarf, oh and a blazer. That only amounts to 2xx. It was still early, so I went to Bayview Village. In BV, I got a few sweaters. Basically, all the stuff I got today (other than the blazer) is everyday clothes, because I recently notice my wardrobe was starting to look raggy. Anyway, after all that, it was noon and I’ve spent 4xx for a work week’s worth of clothes. It’s too bad I didn’t get any pants, but pants have always been tricky. Must try it on before making a purchase, which I hate. All in all, boxing day shopping uptown isn’t hectic at all. It’s almost enjoyable…almost.  :p

nightmare

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

woke up by a nightmare this morning. It’s not your usual teddy bear with a bloody knife kind of nightmare, more of a simulation of what life would be if certain events in the past was changed.

In my nightmare, it’s present day, my mom’s still alive and my dad has retired and moved back in. Just about every little thing he does annoys me. To most, it sounds more like a dream than a nightmare, but that’s because you have no idea who my dad is.

Anyhow, I think what brough this up was because last night, my sis was telling me about her visite to my dad’s new family. From what I heard the kids are too well mannered. While listening to that, my mind was imagine being in grade 11, throw into an unknown country, and having to live with my dad. That is what those kids are going through.

On a side note, my unconscious mind did a very good job at designing the room in my nightmare. About a 26×26" area, with long tall L shaped window. From the looks of the scenery, I would say it’s on the 5th or 6th floor of a 10 floor appartment. My bed is just 2 feet from the window, with a really nice translucent vertical blinds that goes around the window, and around a section of the room to act as a separator. (mind you this is a suite, there’s a mini living room outside of the separator) The blinds is of a yellowish tint that just lets in the most briliant sun light to warm up the colours of the room. Good job unconscious Tommy, a love the look of that room so much.

watches

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

a while ago, I was surfing the net and saw some limited edition watches on www.engadget.com. These watches are from a company call tokyoflash in Japan. They are special in the way that it’s all eletronic watches using led to display time in the most unusual manner. I remembered my friend A actually bought a couple of these watches, they are quite a conversation starter, especially with women. I wonder if I should get one myself. Not for the women attracting factor, just because I don’t own any working time piece at the moment. I started living without a wrist watch since 01. I think that was the time my old watch’s battery died and I realize I carry my mobile with me all the time, and a wrist watch is just a redundancy. Traditionally, watches has always been a symbol of a man’s success. From the whatever digital watches worn by childern and white collors, to the rolex worn by wealthy businessmen, they play a good part of social stature. ….so should I get one…. I know the designer part of me would like it, at the same time, the programmer(logic) part of me would very much kick myself in the ass. Why? the watch isn’t that practical compare to the more traditional watches.  And also, I much more prefer a pocket watch….if only there’s a way to carry one without putting on a belt.

oh well…guess I will live without a watch. This way, my left arm will always have an even skin tone. ha ha

rained out

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

damn it…just when I’m done with all my work and I’m ready to hit to town, it rains. ….no, I’m not a mailman, neither am I hydro-phobic. Just that my car is still shinny from the waxing last week and I want to keep it that way. Also when you wear glasses, it’s never a good idea to walk in the rain. ….guess I will sit down and start writing that new 3d tutorial(whatever it maybe, I haven’t decided on what to write about yet).

portfolio finished

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

a good 3 days of work to gather projects spending 6 years of work experience. It’s done, organized, and sent to the student co-ordinator for review. If everything goes well, I will have an extra credit without going into a single class.   …so on to the next task…what task?  nothing actually.  Back to bordem, guess I will head to the mall tomorrow, or maybe downtown.

portfolio

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

So…these days, I’m gathering my old flash projects to make a portfolio and see if that can give me an advanced standing in a course at school. Thought it would be easy, but as I gather them, more and more seem to arise. Man…I’ve worked on so many, and damn good ones too. Too bad being a flash programming won’t earn me enough for a fancy sports car driving, fine food dinning lifestyle, else I jump back into it in a second.
Oh and a funny thing, because I’m something a sub contractor in my freelence projects, a lot of the project after they are complete, I don’t even know where they are hosted. So  I will just have to throw the finaly handovers onto my own site for show.
(yea I’m posting at 4:40 am, what? it’s not like I got anything important to do tomorrow.)

bored

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

first weekend after a hell of a semester, and I’m bored.
Did most of the stuff on Friday, clean up the house (super clean), waxed the car. Satarday, landry….that’s about it. I did went to the mall today because I felt like buying some new clothes. I managed to not make a single purchase. There isn’t a need for anything new, I do want a nice blazer but then again I don’t have any up coming occations to wear one. Pretty much that was the idea in my head the whole time. I was so bored, I even went browsing at The Bay. I can hardly recall the last time I bought any clothing from a department store.
Had a $4 pork liver congee dinner, then played some video games. (just bashing around xtreme samurai warriors, controlling 2 characters, basically, stealing weapons for the lower level characters) Got even more bored around 3 am, searched e-mail address that came across my inbox minning for data. Eventually came to a architecture firm’s site (a friend of a friend works there), man that flash site had so many good images to make a kick ass site, but the designer screwed it up, that guy or company really lack skills in the motion design area. So I do what an over archiving designer would do, rip the flash appart and make it better. …yup…so that killed a few hours….and here’s where I am.

7am…a bit too early for anything. probably wake up around 11. Go out for some breakfast and do my grocery shopping. Since I don’t have classes till Jan, I actually have time to do some fancy cooking. So no more of the usual pasta. hmmm…I want some salmon. I do need to get some rice, the reserve is almost empty. This week, I can also do a change for my daily breakfast, now that I don’t have to rush out the door every morning.

Velvet sky in sight…that mean it’s time to hit the hay.   I’m not a single bit tired…  -_-

awaiting for the final one

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

only 10 hours left till my final exam starts.  After a night of cramming…I’d only manage to fill one side of the cheatsheet, I hope it will be enough….let see what cruel fate awaits me in the T4040 battlefield.
