one more thought

Friday, November 10th, 2006

just thought i write this down while I remember it.  While at the store to pick up my glasses today, I’d notice every employee in the store seem to be every comfortable as to who and where they are.  I wonder if I will ever feel like that.

got my new glasses

Friday, November 10th, 2006

So…I got my new glasses today.  Man, they are fast. I ordered them Wednesday and I got them today(Friday).  Service was great too. The arms are well adjusted, not too loose, not too tight. If anyone is planning to get some new glasses,  go to Ola Optical Inc. I might just go back and get a pair of shades, I dont’ like to wear clip ons while I drive. (oh yea, no photos yet. My hair is messy. Need to visite my stylist soon.)

odd happenings

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

so this morning I was awaken by a dream where I saw one of my ex-co-workers from back in the day.  Couldn’t quite make out what it meant, but something was telling me to turn on the tv for the news in the morning. I did that but there was nothing.  So the day went on, and as I got home and turned on the computer, she messaged me for assistance on a website she’s working on. Hmmm….seems like my mind is a bit off the mark. Turn on the computer and not the tv.  heh heh.  :)

entertainment news that made my day

As everyone already knows, Britney filed for divorce. Let’s hope it’s the start of the end for K-Fed(I prefer to call him K-fag, but that would be an insult to anyone who’s been called a fag.)  I don’t particularly have a liking or a hating to the couple. I just hate seeing talentless people gain fame for doing nothing at all. What more to look forward to?

-His album is a failure (that’s pretty much a fact).
-Record company sues him and drains all the $$ Britney left him.
-Then some sort of demeaning death to end it all.

That’d be sure to put a smile on my face.  : )

another task done

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

went to shop for a new pair of glasses today. (my old pair is pretty scratched up)
Amazingly, got it done in less than 15 mins. Got it at that place in Times Square. Service was good, price is great. Frame + Lense totaled $300.  I was actually budgeting around 5xx.  The salesman showed me around 25 different frames, most of which are too flashy for my taste. He said I looked like a designer, that’s why he showed me those models. hmmm…makes me question my image, should I dress differently now that I’m a programmer?  Anyway, I went for the type of frame that is "frameless" on the bottom half of the frame. (I was watching batman:the beginning. and one of the characters was wearing something like that and looked rather nice.) The lense are rectangular, as my face isn’t that suited for rounds or ovals.  So….in a week or two, I will be wearing something new. ^_^

hmmm.. k on friday

I do feel like going out….but I’m not into k.
I don’t sing, I don’t like beer, I dont’ like to play dice.
….so there’s practically nothing for me to do there. Given the typical cost, I think I’d rather go for a good dinner at a mid class restaurant.
One of the girls said she’s going to bring 2 of her friends….but then again I’m not looking for a gf.
hmmm…..doesn’t make much sense for me to be there at all.

dinner out

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

Last Wednesday, I had dinner with Antz and Ms. Mars. We visited the renovated Restoran Malaysia. I really like the new decor. The restaurant sits like a floor between saladking’s 1st and 2nd floor, both on price and atmosphere. They sure expended a lot, it seats at least double of what they use to. The food are just as good as before. My sis did say their milk tea is now served in smaller cups, I gotta try that next time.

I do wonder what went through A and M’s minds that night, as the last time all three of us had dinner together was when I announced my sudden decision to work in hk. This time however is just a casual dinner. I was particularly quiet that night, so much was going through my mind that night. If you two are still wondering, that was the beginning of that painful transformation that happens every now and then. Hit by a spliting headache the next night, follow by 4 hrs of non-stop reading of new media sites and information. Yes, I’m a weredesigner. I was suppose to be studying for the wsa test the day after but my mind is stuck in design mode. Don’t worry, I did well on the test, somehow.

Anyway, I finally got around to have lunch with V. We ate at a place call "Thai Bamboo" near the intersection of Steeles and Keele. I wasn’t paying too much attention to the quality of food. I spent most of the time listening and talking. I do remember their Thai style coffe was good. Not great but they do use real coffee(not refills or instants). I think it’s the second time I saw V in that white sweater, must be one of her favorite things to wear, j/k :).  I don’t like to make presumption from what people wear, neither do I like to be that attentive to details. If you’ve read Ms. Mars’ new entry, you know being a good man amounts to nothing(at least that’s my interpretation of it).

This weekend, I went on the hunt for a new winter coat and a new pair of glasses, both something I have to takecare of this season.  I’m a bit surprised to see that most stuff are still pretty autumish. I couldn’t really find something that will keep me warm from the snow. I did some some winter coats at the Bay, but the style doesn’t suite me. After a bit of browsing, I finally found something that’s acceptable. It’s brown, the cutting is much like my old winter coat, around knee length. I haven’t bought it yet, I want to wait a week to see if anything new turns up, and brown really don’t go well with a dark suit, which I’d be wearing to attend a wedding in Dec. Shopping for glasses didn’t went well neither. Things seem much pricier than I remembered.

This weekend, I really haven’t accomplished much. I’m still trying to keep the designer in me dormant. hmmm…I wonder if I have time to gather some friends for dinner again this week. …better take care of everything else first.
