assignment finished…almost

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

4:46 am, finally got the assignment done. 2 days worth of work. Oh yea, that’s fast.  Though it’s not really finished. Technically it should work flawlessly but I just haven’t tested it yet. I’ve tested every part individually but I’m just too tired to do anymore of it today. It’s always like that, I don’t want to do the final testing because I know there will be something to fix and if I get started, I won’t ever stop till it’s done. Time for some shut eye.

busy week(s)

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

The sem is coming to an end, and I’m stuck with assignments and tests. That’s why I haven’t posted much of late. Early this week, my database prof told the class the last test’s score wasn’t well, to the point where he had to bell curve the marks. I was so worried, because I was pretty sure I did great. The most disturbing thing is that he said the second highests score wasn’t anywhere close to the highest score. Turns out he was wrong, I have a 83% prior to the adjustment(91% after the adjustment). It’s only 2 freaking marks behind. Anyhow, feeling more rested today. I pretty much slept half a day after class ended today. Recently with the heavy workload, I’ve thrown off my normal sleep schedule and end up working till 4 am for a couple of days. It has been hell just trying to get up and drag myself to class on time, often having to skip breakfast. I’m actually handling most of the assignments well, but it’s that perfectionist habbit that’s making it difficult. I keep checking and testing and trying to make everything flawless. Just last night, I totally coded the DBJ assignment because I wasn’t happy with the design of the objects. Everything (jsp, bean, servlet) had major changes. I’m actually very much into the object design of the whole process, even more than I enjoy coding. Anyhow, back to the assignments.

good morning

it’s 4 am in the morning and I’d just finished studying for today’s test. All preped and ready to kick some ass. : )

opportunities

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Just had to turn down a freelence job because I have too much on my hands right now. A bit disappointed because the work is interesting and I will have the chance to build some useful tools, also because the offer came form a friend, and you know how I don’t like to let friends down. But from the business point of view, it’s better to not take the job than to give the client a crappy product. Next time H, I should have my diploma in hand in April and I can use all my after work hours for freelence projects.

Btw, thanks V for the the Pride DVD. : ) We must get out and do something sometime. It’s been so long, I think the last time we played baseball was 2 years ago.

hmmm…back to munching my cereal while coding Java.
I ♥ Java   best programming language ever!

finally a new photo

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

took a photo today after getting my hair done. Not a particularly nice photo, as there’s just not enough light in the room, and I was too lazy to take out the big cam with manual adjustments, so I just took a couple photos with the DV cam. With insufficient light, the photos turned out very grainy. I did some adjustments in photoshop, but I’d already know nothing can really revive it. As a b&w photo, it look great. Great enough to be used on my tombstone if I ever needed one. :)  4 assignments and 2 tests coming up….sigh…back to work.

argh….penguins in my kitchen

Monday, November 20th, 2006

ok there’s no penguin but it was certainly colder and noisier. My sis didn’t close the freezer door properly and let the cold out.  sigh…. I wonder if chocolate milk left in 5 degree for 12 hrs will go bad?  I will know soon enough, though I’d probably won’t take on the chicken. Hope I don’t get food poisoning.  : )

so…it’s vegy pasta for the week.

dumpling day

Friday, November 17th, 2006

been craving for dumplings all week. Since everyone seem to be busy and I ran out of food(I only bought enough for 4 dinners this week), I went to that dumpling place in Metro Square. Had one tray steamed(15) and one plate pan fried(5). That’s already more than the amount I normally have for dinner…oddly enough, I still had room for more.  Maybe next time I will have another plate of pan fried ones.

feeling a bit bored, don’t really want to work on assignment tonight(but I will).
I decided to take a look into the friendster’s popular profile section….
Ms. Mars was so right.   popular profile = soft porn
It seem to be a contest of who can show the most skin without alarming the admin. Got rather bored of browsing the stupid profiles and ugly layout+colors….time to head back to work.

got my winter coat today

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

OMG…it’s the most expensive piece of clothing to grace my shoulders to date.
It costs about the same as my last car maintenance fee. Got it from Strada in bayview village. Earlier, I actually saw something I like in Banana Republic, but I decided to have a look in Strada anyway. So why’s it so expensive? It’s made in Italy and it’s 10% Cashmere. The cutting has a slight tapering in the waist, which I like. It just looks amazing.  I like it so much, I don’t think I would wear it as my every day winter coat. (i know that totally defeats the purpose of purchasing a winter coat today but it just looks too damn good)  While in Strada, I also saw some shirts and scarfs I like. I will probably go there again…when I don’t mind spending the $$.

New glasses + new coat + new boots….still lacking the hair cut, which should be done this week or the next.

headache headache headache

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

while running through the sequence diagrams for my prj group assignment, I found so much flaws, it’s not even funny.  I’m getting a headache just from looking at the first half of it. badly named methods, incorrect capital lettering, and of course the absolutely wrong methods assigned to the wrong objects.

I wish I can just let this one go….but you know faulty planning will cause production hell. It’s not that the group members are not smart enough, just inexperienced.
