procrastination strikes again

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Got home around 9:30, supposely wanted to call her and make plans for Sat. Ended up just sitting in front of the computer watching second by second as time past. Remembering she doesn’t stay up late on week nights, I’d already know it’s too late to call. Don’t know why but it just feels awkward. What if she asks
"what’s the occation?" or "maybe another time" …my brain is too tired to find a proper response after a long day of work.  Speaking of which, work is going fine. Turns out the specs isn’t going change that much.  lucky me.

eagerly waiting for tomorrow

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

By the end of today, I’d pretty much completed the task that was assigned to me at work. But my sis heard rumors of a possible specs change which will mean all the work I did over the last 3 weeks will be scraped and starting fresh again.  Personally, I don’t mind. It’s co-op $, wasting my time just mean they get less done. I do however want to do some documentation. I had a hell of a time getting started on the job, I would like to make the documentation better so the next new guy can start being productive quicker.  I think I’d just found a new hole to fill, I’m the developer/documentation guy.  I do both jobs well and I speak the lingo of the sides. hmmm…maybe I will stick with that if the pay is good.

b-day dinner

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Thanks Ed & Ant for the b-day dinner.  With the chit chat catching up and stuff, I’d just realized, we have all been very busy with work.  Anyway thanks again : )

where do I belong?

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

As I was reading Miss Mars’ blog about her recent trip  to hk, can’t help but to feel how much attachment she has to hk. Then a question arise, "where do I belong?".  I have memories of the places I’ve lived but yet none of them provide that emotional attachment. At times, I even feel out of place when I’m with my friends. I must go to Japan and see if I can find that sense of belonging there.

relaxing weekend

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

finally had a real day off in a long long time. Called my friends and invited them over to hang out….seemingly a 2 day notice was too short, only 1/3 showed up. If I had know the turn out ahead, I might have ran some errands instead. But it wasn’t bad, caught up with things here and there. Got some good news about a friend who’s getting married. I did open that bottle of ice apple cider anyway, just because I like it. I work way too hard, so it’s only fair to indulge at every and anything I desire when I have the little time to do so.  Next week gotta set some concret plans to share my indulgence with someone who works equally hard.

I don’t like my placement

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Taking up the offer was a bad decision…so much pressure, and way too much to do. People there are rather intimidating. And my cubical kinda suck….if you can call it a cubical at all, 3.5 walls vs 3.0 walls is a huge difference.  People walking by all the time, and the noise.  sigh…. I’m so tired today, I’d even skipped my skating lesson. I miss OPG. But then again, I wasn’t learning much there.

I really hate reading the documentation. I’ve been doing it from 9 to 6 for the past weeks. The biggest problem I have is these documents are suppose to be written by developers for developers…but they are so awfully technical, I need a super nerd to nerd dictionary to read it. Why can’t everyone just communicate effectively.  >.<

fixed it…not really

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Was trying to do the ilink thing with my GT concept over the weekend. I thought my ps2 was fried. So today after work, I took it apart, dusted it out from the inside, and now it’s all better. Turns out the lense was dirty.  : )

change of mood

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

Just as I was about to write something depressing after killing time on old emulator games, a surprising message was waiting on the background of the desktop. Miss Mars left me a special gift on my door step, a souvenir/b-day gift from her hk trip. I love it, you are the best Miss Mars, especially the card. Haven’t received a b-day card for ages, other than the ones form the insurance company. Btw great penmanship and the ink is neat as well, silver with blue lining. Thank you so much for the sun shine.  ^_^

(I forwarded my mobile tonight, because I didn’t want to bring it to dinner. My dress pants doesn’t look good with stuff in the pockets, so I just decided not to bring it with me. Odd though, it should have forwarded your call to my home phone. Oh and I remember the name of the place. It’s Cava [1560 Yonge St.], it’s a pretty good place to dine. Really like the knowledgeable waiter, a rare find these days in TO.)

more video play

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

11pm, kinda tired from work and all. what better to do than play with my video gears. Today I hooked up my VLC media player to the trusty Canopus RaptorDV. Can you say "streaming video"?  Ha ha, it was so funny. Obviously DV format is too large to stream over, so I tested out a few different compressions. Eventually I settled with mpg, decent quality. It was only a 384kps stream but there was this 3 second delay. It’s so funny, you wave your hand in front of the camera and it will appear on my client machine 3 seconds later.  XD   You have to be in the room to see it. Anyway…I’m going to play with some mp3 streaming now. (yup it supports that too, so literally you have a mini tele/radio station on your hand.)

10:51

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Hmmm…10:51pm still procrastinating. Think it’s best just to call it off and do it the week later. Seemingly I forgot it is my b-day today, and people are less likely to say no. I don’t like to be on the receiving end of that kind of pressure and I dont’ like to give it out neither. good thinking brain…drag the idea along for another week.
