not so well

Friday, March 31st, 2006

Not feeling well today. Had 3 tests and neither one was up to my best performance. Not much anger towards myself because I did try. I’m just a bit tired…not physically, but mentally. Constantly questions what my purpose is. Nothing I’ve done really gave me the satisfaction……hmmm….what am I really searching for….

After all that, I just felt a little self destructive.

hate working with lazy people

last class of the day, thought it would just a sit and go.  Well this class has one of those group work assignments. I’d finish my part 3 weeks ago(before the strike). This guy in my group, he said he didn’t receive my e-mail? WTF, he got all the ones before that, same address, same plain text messages. Fine, I will send the stuff again. "I’m not a tech guy, better send me a written version of the interview".  WTF? It’s a freaking mp3 file, anyone with less than a half functional brain knows how to play it. So I said "ok, I will send the file to you tonight". He said "so we are going to start next class".  WTF,  fuck you, the assignment is due a week after. I mean, get the fuck started as soon as I sent my file. Then he gave me some shit about not knowing what to do. Everything was explained weeks ago and more than once.  >.<   ….god damn son of a bitch.   The prof is standing right there in front of the class, waiting for questions from students. He wouldn’t even ask! I had to do it……fuck,….if I wasn’t so busy, I would punch him in the face then kick him out of the group.

blank

Sunday, March 26th, 2006

was up at 3 last night(usual). In bed, looking at my old mobile phone which I now use as an alarm clock. Just looking back at the calendar and all the stuff I’ve done in the years past. Kept on going back and back, even to days before I had this phone in my hand. Strange isn’t it? It was born not so long ago yet it can hold so many memories even data beyond it’s existence. How I wish I can turn back time as easy as I can switch the calendar from today to years past. So many choices I’ve made would have so many different out comes as to what and who I am today….was I right? was I wrong?  who knows….
No way to turn it back now, all I can do is look ahead.

new path

Saturday, March 25th, 2006

Just found a faster way to get to Japan. Very tempting to just drop everything going on now and head over there. Still….can’t do it yet, want to finish the diploma, end the car lease properly, finish the freelance jobs on hand.

stupid asus fan

Friday, March 24th, 2006

The fan on my Asus A8N-SLI started to show problems after 3 months of use. It spends totally out of control, sometimes doesn’t spin at all…..sigh….

option 1. take it to the store to get it fix….don’t want to, they say min will take a few days to a week. that’s way too long just to replace the fan.

option 2. do it myself, buy a fan+heatsink. Remove the old, install the new. ….don’t want to…I can stand installing and un-installing boards and drives, but I hate doing fans. Having to remove the thermal glues and stuff…it’s just more work than I’m willing to do.

damn celebrities and their seal love

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

Don’t you just hate these stupid rich people who have too much time on their hands and want to try their hand on affecting political decisions? Well I do. First it was that Paul McCartney, now it’s some old woman from who knows when trying to stop the seal hunt. Damn it, seal hunt is part of the native’s part of live. Give some respect. If you like to make some change, live with less cars, less houses and give some of the money over and improve the native’s living stardards. You want them to see it’s cruel? Given them $$ so they have more education facilities. You want something to distract them from the seal? Given them $$ to build some local attraction to celebrate their heritage. Stop bothering our government representatives! They have better things to do than to entertain you.

lounge

Monday, March 20th, 2006

Have you notice, there isn’t any good lounges uptown. You know…just a place with some low ambient music, comfy seating, an intimate enviroment that serves food and drinks. I was at one of those places last week…but downtown. Great and all but it’s downtown. After a couple of drinks and some fun, you seriously expect someone to drive all the way back uptown? There’s a real need for a nice lounge uptown. Yea there’re some so call lounge places uptown, but mostly run by asian people and the whole feel of the place is just wrong. Usually music and noise is too loud, seating is uncomfortable, and the music is all these asian pop music which just doesn’t create the right mood.  If I have some extra, I might just be tempted to open some place that would meet my requirements.

it’s finally done

been dragging for a month now, finally went to my hair stylist. Feeling a bit adventurous today, so I went with a new hair colour. It’s nothing outrageous, just one shade lighter than my naturally brown hair. ^_^
New photo is posted in my profile.

interesting stuff….not really

Monday, March 13th, 2006

Was just checking out one of those 416/905 groups….wow, so many people put an apostrophe in the beginning of their name just so it would appear on the first page. Anyway if you have noticed, groups pages list people in ascii order. So I played around a little trying to see if any character before the apostrophe would work. Of course not, even I have written reg expressions to filter that. But one thing the friendster developers forgot, is to check where the apostrophe is located. Note to developers: no one has an apostrophe as the first character of their name.  I’m sure you will get around to correcting that some day.

Why didn’t I keep that in my name? Only superficial losers need that sort of shit. I use friendster for what it is. All the people on my list are my friends (with 2 exceptions). I don’t abuse the system and just randomly add strangers to my list.

btw, if anyone is interested, the correct expression to use is
[A-Za-z]+[A-Za-z' ]?[A-Za-z']?

Make sure first name field on that expression is true, then allow it to be submitted to the database. Oh and of course, do a space trim. Some strange people might have spaces for their first name, so I allowed this, as long as it’s not the first character.

yes yes, Nerd I am.  with a cap N.

side tracked

Monday, March 13th, 2006

started working on the database thing today….a few minuits in and I got side tracked. I read about so many different things: the HDTV standards, digital tv, projector technology, tutorials on using LED bulbs, HDTV signals,…etc
maybe I’m destine to take eletro mechanics instead of computer programming.
