got most of chc site completed. amazing how much you can achieve with a good cup of coffee and kylie minogue music. now I feel tired and gay….time to hit the hay. XD

recently I found myself to be rather self centred. I’d never had to worry about anyone. I’m the youngest of my family, and it seem most of the time, all that’s required of me is be responsible for my own doings. Though there was a time when I did fit into that role of a guy who would think of others before myself but that was when I throw myself against the world, thousands of miles away from home and all I can rely on is myself. This could be one of the reasons why I want to be in Japan so bad. I want to be in a place where I’m forced to change for the better.

I’m(involuntarily) taking this business writing class, and for some reason they like to put people in groups to do writing. Personally, I can’t write scrap when I’m in a group. My thinking process is very different from other people, so when writing in a group, I always seem less involved. Anyway, we had to put ourselves into groups today. Two of the guys whom I previously worked with got together, so I joined them as well. They seem mature enough to not screw up the assignments, plus one of them is in the 5th sem, which should give us an edge. Just after I joined, the guy made a decision I don’t quite approved of. He went and grapped the only special ed student to join our group. Call me a bastard or what ever you like, but when there’s a choice, I want the best and only the best. So this special ed student isn’t someone I would consider. Anyway what’s done is done. I guess he did it from a very brotherly way. You can tell right away he must be the eldest of the sibliings in his family. All I can do now is hold him responsible for picking up any slacks that are do be done.

sometimes I wish I wasn’t smart. Then I can live life as it is. Take up a job in the sales & service kinda thing, and be satisfy with the bare minimals.
but I know I’m not meant to be that way, I have ambition, I have the power to achieve anything, and most of all, I’m spoiled rotten. I’m just too used to the middle class income family life, I must earn enough or more to keep my living standards. That’s the life I’ve come to known, do what I want, when I want, just because I can!

sigh…finish the first draft of the systems class assignment today. My group members took a long time to finish their part. One of them…is another one of those people who aren’t fluent in English…How the f did they get into this class? Doesn’t the requirement state they need at least College English to enter? Anyway….he tried, he really did…but it’s not good enough. Finally I dictated what is needed and got it done. So practically I did more than 70% of the work. I think if I worked on the project alone, I would have finished it ahead of time. sad……  Bruce & Henry, really wish you guys are in my group. Worked with you guys on a few projects before and did some great work. Hopefully I can get to work with you guys again, or some people with equal or greater talent. One month down, 3 to go.

Have you shopped around lately? It seems there’re no sub $100 videocards that offers dual dvi. I guess the manufacturers haven’t noticed that monitors are getting cheaper and quite a number of people are using dual lcd setups. And yea, sure lots of these are gamers that are willing to spent $300+ for a videocard, but they should also know there’re a lot more of non-gamers who just need a videocard that has decent performance and 2 dvi out. I’m sure plenty of pro and non-pro video editors out there will appreciate a card of such specs. 

On the bright side, the monitor menufacturers are finally getting it. They are finally starting to make wide screen monitors. For most users, 70-80% of the time, they are using their computer to browse the web, word process, photo editing and what not. All these tasks are better working on a wide screen monitor where you can work on 2 document at the same time or just have a movie playing while you work. Prices for these new comers are still high. I think I will get a few more wide screen monitors once the prices drop to around the $500 mark. And please, if you are gonna have video input, put in a pip function and a remote won’t kill neither just look at the LCD monitors from Japan, they are so well designed(specs wise).
