really love the horoscope thing on friendster today. "You’ve spent enough time on intrigue — and other people’s problems. It’s time for you to think about what’s really important to you. Once you figure it out — and it won’t take long — get busy making it happen." Because that’s what I’ve been doing all week. I’ve actually always like debugging other people’s problems. Just like to get the feeling of being needed. :)

Oh that team member finally got back to me on why she didn’t show up with the assignment print outs…turns out she "forgot"…..yea sure…good excuse, think I would feel better if she lie about getting hit by a bus. After all there’s only 3 assignments for that course, everytime you check the course site to get stuff for the lab and stuff, the deadline stares you in the face.

being lazy

yup…as the title said. I should be working on assignments right now but I just feel like doing anything else.  I started browsing stationary websites. Just to give you a bit of backgorund info, I’m very picky about the tool I use. Because I know I use my tools often, I want to get the best. I use mechanical pencils a lot. I use it to write, I use it to draw, I use it to draft, I use it for just about everything except writing checks and signing stuff. My last really good mechanical pencil was lost in my trip to hk. That little thing got my through highschool and college. Well built, ergonomic and never needed any fixing. Anyway I got something better now….another Japanese design/made mechanical pencil. Got it from some Korean store. Was planning on getting an extra one(or a douzen) for backup but that place closed down. That was bound to happen, the owner just don’t know what it means to have a good store location. So…that’s why I’m always looking at stationary sites: searching for a new mechinaical pencil. Man…does the papermate ones suck. The designs are ugly, bad use of material and colours. And from experience the US made ones are prone to mechanical failures. Wish I’m in Japan again, so many choices and they are all good. …..this is a pretty boring and sucky entry….but it did occupy a portion of my time…good enough. :)

everything is fixed

First stupid group member didn’t show up with the prints for the assignment…(god damn, I already done all the brain work, she only had to type and print the shit).  Second, s.m.f. prof assure the whole class we will be able to reg for summer courses after the test…well turns out we can’t, window is close.  f f f…. >.<   I’m holding that bastard responsible for whatever happens. so pissed right now.

with the end of sem coming, things are getting really busy. Barely have enough time to sleep. Something that’s bothering me is that I’ve stepped into something of a project manager position for one of the team projects at school. Not only do I have to do my portion of the work but I also have to watch over other and keep everything in line. It’s tough work, plus I’m something just a step lower than a perfectionist, so I do tend to take everything into my own hands. Maybe I should learn to put more trust on my team mates…or better yet, get more trust worthy team mates.  ha ha.

Interesting thing happen today at the caf. Some girl from last sem’s English class was dared by her friends to come over and talk to me (yes…I have really good hearing and there weren’t many people). Flattering as it was, I was rather busy keeping track of the project progress, so I stuck my face to my laptop. She didn’t end up coming over but I think it’s for the best. I’m somewhat emotionally distant/disabled. Anyway for whatever reason, I seem to get more attention from the opposite sex these days. Could it be my not so good looks? It does seem the attention grows as I pay less attention to how I look. My hair is long over due for a cut, but since I don’t really care, I’m just gonna let it grow.

Another interesting I heard while I was in the caf. Two first year students was talking about how much they like music from Bush (previously Bush X).  Rather surprised how their music still gets listened to by young people. After all, that was one of the bands I listen to when I was in highschool. Nowadays, you don’t even see one of their videos unless it’s retro hour. I just wonder how these kids were introduced to the music.  Anyhow, it’s a good thing…stop the pop/rap crap and bring back some good old rock.

So today while I was trying to not do my assignments, I decided to have some fun with a g standard wireless router I got for free when I bought my sparkly pearl white nec laptop.  Since it’s from hk, the power adapter won’t work, so I pulled one of those universal ones.  5 mins into testing, my room smelled like hardware bbq.  The lesson?  a 350mA adapter can’t provide enough juice for a router that needs 800mA.  Good thing nothing burned down or caught fire. Someday, I will have to make a trip to the local radioshack and pick up an adapter that does 12v 800mA out.  back to fiddling with the as400.
