List of things I hate about traffic

Read lists of stuff on someone else’s blog and inspire me to put up a list of my own stuff.  (more to come…if I remember to)

1. People turning or chaning lanes without signaling or just signal at the very last min.   Damn it, the signal lights aren’t there to make your car look cool when you make a turn, it’s for the drivers around you to keep a safe distance, so use them. (yes, I even signal when I’m driving 2 am in the morning with no cars around)

2. People who sees another car signaling for a lane change and won’t give room. (yes that you, jackass in the silver jetta driving on 401 today). When I signal for a lane change, the lights blinked 4 or more times, looked over my shoulder twice, with a safe distance, you’d better slow down and make room because YOU KNOW I’M ABOUT TO CHANGE LANES!

3. Car at an intersection stopping way pass the white line. Please be kind and don’t block the views for the drivers making a turn. Hell know you won’t be running the red, so stay behind the line.

4. Cars that makes lane changes while making a left turn on a double left turn intersection. With the increase of traffic, these type of intersection are popping up a lot in Richmond Hill and other places. When there are 2 cars turning, things get a bit tight, so stay on your own freaking lane. Whatever you want to do afterwards is your choice, but not while turning!

5. Cars with one non-functioning tail light. I’ve seen quite a lot of these lately, 3 today at least. You know how in movies cops stop cars with broken tail lights and issue tickets (sometimes break the lights then issue tickets, hee hee). Where the hell are those cops?

6. People who don’t know how to use the brake paddle. Let me just say, the correct way to use the brake is to gently step on it to slow down or to a full stop. It is not for tapping! Tapping makes it difficult for the car following to anticipate what you are going to do. so never tap on the brake unless you are slipping on the rain/ice and need to match the rotation to the road to get traction.

7. Cars that stop half way trying to make a left. Make up your mind, if you can’t go, don’t. Going half way doesn’t get you anyway and certainly blocks cars going across.

that’s it for now. I’m actually surprise I don’t have a problem with the trucks on hwy7. It’s a bit annoying following a slow truck from a dead stop but hey, it’s a public road. And for the time being, none of the trucks have caused me any harm or anger while driving to school. So thumbs up for the truck drivers on the hwy7 route.
