designer’s block?

If there’s sunch a thing as designer’s block, I’m having a big one. So I’m re-designing a site right now. It’s a site I built a year or two ago. The problem? I had already optimized every aspect of the site from the start. The dimension fits perfectly on a standard 1024×768 screen, maxed usability for the navigation…etc. All the information is organized at it’s best. After a few hours of tinkering in photoshop, I can only come up with a new skin for the site. sigh…. I did add some minor features but over all, it’s pretty much just a new skin. I know I can move blocks of data around to change the look, but that would also mean I will have to piss on optimized structure along with all the rules of usability. I just don’t have the heart to do that. After all, it’s a high traffic site which demands good usability and low data transfer. I hope taking the site from html to php will lower a bit of the over head. I might try to add a customer input form just to see what new feature the users want. I bet half of those will be online order and online reservation. No way in hell am I adding those, because I would very likely to be the one to handle those tasks and be the middle man. I don’t want to do that, and the restaurant already has loads to do, I doubt they will deligate one of their busy workers to take the task unless the direct competition starts offering this. I hope the users will have some useful input.
